Zala was my second saluki and she came to me
in 1993. She was then half a year old and it was love with first sight, the first time I met her. I just couldn't
resist. Zala's registration name is El-Adini Gamil. Gamil is Arabian for pretty.
The name Zala is from Razal, which is Arabian for gazelle.
Zala is totally different in
type from Shamsi. You can hardly believe they are the same breed. Zala is very
obedient and we were competing at a high level in obedience, class III (Class four is the highest
level in obedience competitions).
This is a achievement we are very proud of, especially because she found it very
amusing. Zala never wears the leash and she never runs away. I have written some stories about the obedience. They are quite amusing and you
can find them in the section Writings.
Unfortunately I haven't had the time to translate all of them to English, but I
will do so later.
When she was four years old,
Zala had a serious accident and broke her hindleg. She and her salukifriend
Faraq ran into eachother. This almost ended fatal. I was told by the vet to put
her to sleep, but after three surgeries and two years of recovering, she is back
in buissiness. You can also read about this serious accident in the section
Writings
Zala crossed the rainbow bridge July 12th 2006. She was my soulmate!
I will never forget her
